Q&A with Michael Boccacino

This week in our series of Q&As with SocialDay, we’re chatting to Michael Boccacino, Director of Content Partnerships at TheSoul Publishing. Michael has spent the last decade building partnerships for tech and media companies including BuzzFeed, Grindr, Salesforce, and Disney. Now from over the water in LA, Michael grows TheSoul Publishing’s current and future platform relationships across the US.

At SocialDay next month, Michael will be delivering a fascinating session about making the shift to a universalised global content experience. But first, we’re finding out a little bit more about him, his exciting career, and what he loves about social media. 👇

Hey Michael! Firstly, if you had to describe yourself using 3 emojis what would they be?

👨‍🎨👨‍🔬🕵️‍♂️

What do you love most about your role as Director of Content Partnerships?

Getting to introduce people to TheSoul Publishing. We do incredible work, and it's been an exciting time to tell our story. I love being part of a company that champions positivity in all things they do.

Do you have a favourite social media platform and why?

I like TikTok to see what's trending, Snapchat for their original programming, YouTube for my favorite cooking videos, and Instagram to see what my friends are up to.

What do you think is the biggest social media content ‘trend’ we’ll see in the next 12 months?

Many of the most popular social tools today started on the Chinese platforms. It’ll be interesting to see whether this trend continues. Also, it will be interesting to see how users respond to recent Gifting features on social platforms over the next 12 months.

What are 3 key takeaways our delegates will get from your SocialDay session?

We're the #1 digital media company in the world, and I'll be sharing some of the tactics that helped us get there— universal content pillars built around positivity, real-time curation, and a global publishing pipeline.

And finally, what are you personally most excited about for SocialDay 2021?

It's been such a tumultuous year, I'm looking forward to learning about how everyone's business has evolved now that we're coming out the other side as one of the most innovative sectors in the world.

Thanks Michael!
