Snapchat launches new lenses to teach users sign language

In a move to increase the accessibility and inclusivity of its platform, Snapchat has launched a fun way for users to teach and learn sign language via its AR lenses. The lenses, which are being launched as part of International Week of the Deaf, use SignAllโ€™s AI and computer vision technology to recognise and translate American Sign Language. Users are encouraged to fingerspell their names as well as other common words like โ€˜loveโ€™ and โ€˜smileโ€™ with the lens, which Snap hopes will inspire more creators to consider hearing-impaired users when they create content.

Twitter expands official partnership programme

This week, Twitter expanded its Official Partner Program to include 7 more companies that can enhance marketing on the platform and offer leading technology solutions for businesses. The new companies include social media management tool Hootsuite, as well as Bloomberg, which will provide actionable signals in strategic analysis, and Talkwalker, which provides consumer intelligence services to power brandsโ€™ social media marketing.

Clubhouse announces private friends-only feature Wave

The amount of social media marketers still using Clubhouse may be dwindling, but it hasnโ€™t stopped the break-through app rolling out updates and new features left and right. This week, the platform announced Wave, a new feature that allows users to see when their friends are online and start private rooms with them. The feature is available globally on iOS and Android and is an evolution of the existing option to start a private room with friends without knowing if or when they are available on the app.

TikTok tests new option to pin videos

TikTok is testing a new option to allow users to pin up to 3 videos to the top of their profiles, helping them to showcase specific clips to existing and potential followers. The option would be of huge benefit to creators and brands, who would be able to showcase the best examples of their work, as well as latest promotions and Q&As more readily.
